EXHIBITION MILCHSTRASSENVERKEHRSORDNUNG (Space is the place)

The aerospace industry outstrips itself with ever new record breaking news, the next step in the evolution of the space age has been made. Specialists agree: the future of humanity is in space.
The exhibition relates critically to the so called „New-Space-Era“ and presents works of 22 german and international artists like paintings, photography, drawings, objects, videos, record covers and sounds.

Artists:

Guy Allott (GB) / Andreas Ammer, Andreas Gerth, Martin Gretschmann (D) / Song Ming Ang (SGP) / Lucas Foletto Celinski (BR) / Gregor Hil- debrandt (D) / Via Lewandowsky (D) / Bjørn Melhus (D) / Nik Nowak (D) / Johan Österholm (S) / Thomas Ravens (D) / Nik Raicevic alias Nik Pascal (USA) / Gerd Rohling (D) / Igor Sacharow-Ross (RU/D) / Bettina Scholz (D) / Annette Schröter (D) / Sebastian Szary (D) / Jared Theis (USA) / Saverio Tonoli (I) / Brigitte Waldach (D) / Aribert von Ostrowski (D)

Homo duplex between cognition and intuition

The work of Igor Sacharow-Ross has developed through examinations of a variety of intellectual and spiritual currents. At first glance one might seem to be confronted with distinct structures representative for the natural science. However, this confrontation bears no cognitive certainty. In contrast, it concretely illustrates the fact, that no certainty can be gained in the attempt to penetrate the secrets of nature; no matter how strong the evidence may seem.

It is due to this, that the collection of works is extremely instructive considering excessive and therefore illegitimate expectations with regard to science resp. technology. Concerning macrocosmic structures, the instruments to master nature may be getting more and more powerful; the same applies to microcosmic structures. Still, to answer questions of our own essential life and existence it is worth to take an extensive look into the dark of the graphite structures standing like a threefold writing on the wall – and what do we read, what inscription does reveal itself? Does it say something about the straight, but eventually diverted, trajectory, the enormous extension between procreation and dissolution to star dust?

Addressing the human place in the cosmos ranges from the myth of extending the human life span to genetic data bases as well as to intuitions that reach beyond the coordinate system of the sciences. Contemplators may somewhat sense this, the somewhat quiet route of the comet through the eons: Is it a piece of cell material, is it the abyss of knowledge inside of us or countless laws that we still need to appropriate in more or less intuitive ways?

Homo duplex zwischen Kognition and Intuition
